Following a recent decision issued by the Vietnamese Ministry of Defence, the Helicopter Regiment 930 has been established and it is under the management of the Da Nang-based Air Force Division 372.

The mission of the helicopter regiment is to conduct observation and reconnaissance flights to designated targets either in the air, on the ground, or over water.  The regiment’s helicopters will also be used for military transportation in the central region and highlands, and in the southern section of the Tonkin Gulf.  In addition, they will be used to carry leaders of the central Party, government and military, as well as being involved in search and rescue, and flood and storm control and mitigation work.
