The Da Nang People’s Committee (PC) Vice Chairman, Mr Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, and some representatives from the Son Tra District PC yesterday reviewed the environmental clean-up and maintenance of social order on local beaches along the Truong Sa-Hoang Sa route over the past 6 months.

During the review period, the authorities from the seaside wards of Man Thai, Phuoc My, Tho Quang and My An gave top priority to cleaning up their local beaches.  However, there are still problems with street vendors and parking chaos, as well as motorcycle thefts in the evenings.

Over the coming months, the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches and the Man Thai Ward’s authorities will focus on planting trees, erecting parasols, and setting up souvenir kiosks and photo locations, as well as preventing local coracles anchoring illegally on Man Thai beach.  Special attention will be paid to displaying more information signs about the freshwater shower services at the local beaches.

In addition, authorities from Tho Quang and Man Thai wards will facilitate local seafood traders to do their business in accordance with the city’s regulations in order to ensure  sustainable livelihoods for the locals, and environmental sanitation.  Stronger measures need to be taken to deal with the harassment of visitors, illegal vending, and other issues of concern.
