Affordable housing development for workers opens in Da Nang

A 70 billion VND first stage of a new affordable housing scheme developed by Da Nang government was officially opened on 18 October.

The new development is promising workers in Hoa Cam Industrial Park high quality, accessibly priced apartments that have been specifically designed for renting.  

The build-to-rent development is targeting workers in Da Nang-based Hoa Cam Industrial Park, and apartments are affordable to them.

The first stage of Da Nang government-funded affordable housing scheme boasts three 5-storey blocks with 278 single and 7 double rooms, 3 communal rooms, a kindergarten, a medical room, and a parking area. The new development can accommodate around 600 workers.

Attending at the opening ceremony of the new development were Da Nang Party Committee Deputy Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, and municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Le Trung Chinh.

In his remarks at the event, Vice Chairman Chinh said the new development aims to welcome the 22nd Congress of the Da Nang Party Committee (PC) for the 2020 - 2025 tenure, as well as to meet the dire and urgent needs of workers in industrial parks for housing.

Also at the event, the Da Nang Labour Union handed housing rental decisions to 18 workers in the Hoa Cam Industrial Park. Also, cash gifts of one million VND each were presented to 90 IP workers who are financially struggling due to Covid-19.
