The Kim Long Nam company-developed Time Square Da Nang project was fined for violating the environmental protection regulations.

Furthermore, the Kim Long Nam company was asked to remove a total of 4 plastic pipes with a diameter of 114mm that discharge wastewater directly into the city’s dedicated drainage system which then allows it to flow into the sea.

The company was also required to construct a sedimentation tank in which wastewater is filled and stored for some time to remove the suspended particles present in the water.

Previously, the Chief Inspector of the municipal Department of Construction had issued a fine of 10 million VND to the company for its violation of the environmental protection regulations.

On 5 August evening, representatives from relevant local agencies found a huge amount of noxious wastewater being poured into the sea.

The problem was firstly thought to be caused by a leaking pipe system which might be resulted from the big amount of wastewater from swimming pools of hotels along Vo Nguyen Giap Street.

Meanwhile, according to some local residents living nearby, they often see such wastewater being discharged into the Son Tra beach.
