Over recent weeks, Da Nang has seen many kind-hearted city-dwellers who were willing to return lost property to their owners without asking for a reward.

Once having found the dropped property, these honest people managed to find their owners via Facebook, the world’s most popular social networking platform.

On his own Facebook page, a man, named Le Trinh, expressed his deep gratitude for a local lifeguard for returning to him his own wallet which had been dropped previously on a section of a beach in front of the Muong Thanh Luxury hotel.

In a similar case which is worthy of high praise, a local male resident, named Nguyen Cong Chinh, recently posted necessary information on his Facebook page about a purse he had found previously near the Rong (Dragon) Bridge.

The lost purse contained an identity (ID) card which features the name of the owner residing in Ha Noi, a bank card, a passport, and amount of money in cash. Eventually, thanks to Chinh’s good deed, the lost purse and its contents have already been returned to its owner in touching moments.

In a similar vein, in mid-August, Captain Phan Van Khoa, a local traffic police officer, returned a dropped wallet to its owner, 60-year-old Nguyen Xuan Hoang residing in Hai Chau District’s Hoa Thuan Dong Ward.

Previously, Captain Khoa found a wallet dropped in front of a house at 47 Ly Tu Trong whilst he was on his way back to the headquarters of the municipal Traffic Police Division.

The wallet contained nearly 6.5 million VND in cash, and some important personal papers with the name of Nguyen Xuan Hoang.

Soon after, Captain Khoa posted the wallet-related information on social network. As a result, in the following morning, Mr Hoang came to the Traffic Police Division of the municipal Department of Police to fully retrieve his lost property.

On 11 August, an on-duty patrol team from the city’s Traffic Police Division, led by Lieutenant Colonel Dang Ngoc Thang, found a bag which had been dropped on Nguyen Huu Tho Street. It contained a ASUS laptop, a charger, a handheld optical mouse, earphones and a notebook.

Eventually, the lost bag has been returned to its owner, named Bui Dang Khoa, who permanently resides in Thanh Khe District’s Chinh Gian Ward.

These shining examples mentioned above are considered to be tourism ambassadors for the city in making Da Nang more inviting to domestic and international friends.
