On Saturday, the Da Nang Department of Tourism in collaboration with the Vietnamese Embassy in the Republic of Austria organised a programme to promote the city’s tourism potentials in Austria’s Vienna City.

The event was part of the ongoing working trip to the Republic of Austria made by a delegation of Da Nang’s leaders led by municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Le Trung Chinh.

Mr Le Dung, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria, said that Da Nang is one of the most inviting travel destinations in Viet Nam. Also, the city is one of the country's pioneering localities in expanding the city’s international tourist markets into Central European countries.

He, therefore, took the opportunity to encourage even more Austrian travel agencies to launch new and attractive tours to Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole.

Also, within the framework of the trip, the Da Nang delegation met with the Mayor of Graz City and representatives of the municipal Council to promote the establishment of municipal-level cooperative ties between Da Nang and Graz, Styria State.

Graz is the second largest city in Austria after Vienna. The city has a developed economy based on tourism, education and training and hi-tech which are also Da Nang’s priority aspects.

On behalf of the Da Nang leaders, Vice Chairman Chinh invited representatives of the Graz City government to visit Da Nang in order to assess the cooperative potential between the two localities, thereby boosting the establishment of the bilateral cooperative relations.

In reply, a representative of the Graz City Council highly lauded the visit made by the Da Nang leaders which would be laid the foundation for more specific cooperation relations in the aspects of mutual concern.

Thanks to the operation of the Doha- Da Nang direct air route operated by the Qatar Airways, Da Nang now conveniently accesses 160 international destinations, including Vienna, a famous tourist city in the Europe.
