Teachers' Day celebrated in Da Nang

A ceremony took place in Da Nang on Friday morning to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Vietnamese Teachers’ Day.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang highly lauded the tireless efforts and remarkable achievements that teaching staff and students citywide have made, thereby significantly contributing to promoting the city’s development over recent years.

According to the 13-tenure Politburo’s Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW regarding socio-economic development and national defence and security in the north-central and central coastal regions by 2030 with a vision to 2045, Da Nang eyes turning itself into a centre for scientific research and human resource training in the region, and building the University of Da Nang into a national-level university, added he.

In order to realise the aforementioned targets, Party chief Quang asked the education sector to inherit and uphold its gained achievements, improve the quality of training at all educational levels, implement life skill education programmes, build school culture, and prevent school violence. Heed should be on instructing students to use the internet and social networks in a healthy manner in accordance with the law.

Mr. Quang suggested the education sector actively coordinate and advise the Party committee and government to increase investment in education and training, contributing to training high-quality human resources to meet the city’s socio-economic requirements in the coming time. At the same time, it is necessary for the education sector to continue to well implement a project to build, upgrade and expand schools across the city during the 2021-2025 period, and synchronously implement solutions to increase the percentage of schools meeting national standards.

Secretary Quang also asked the education sector to renew the content and form of career guidance for senior high school students in the direction of learning and vocational training, as well as closely work with the city’s Study Promotion Association and its chapters at all levels to promote study encouragement activities, build a learning society, diversify learning methods, and create lifelong learning opportunities for people.

To mark the occasion, the city’s education sector was awarded the laudatory banner with the written words ‘Solidarity, Creativity, Innovation and Improvement of Education Quality’.

During the ceremony, many collectives and individuals received Emulation Flags and Certificates of Merit from the National Government, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the municipal People's Committee, in recognition of their great contributions to the cause of the education.

Also, 21 outstanding teachers were awarded the title of Da Nang’s Typical Teachers.
