With Phase 1 being implemented from June 2019, the CITIES project helps to mitigate urban barriers to preschool learning children of preschool age through hands-on community programmes hosted by the school.

The method of applying arts in preschool education activities is developed based on the approach of observing children according to the process.

Within the project, VVOB offers training for educational officers of the Da Nang Department of Education and Training and its district-level chapters, thereby helping them grasp a deeper insight into how preschools can develop innovative methods of dealing with urban-specific barriers.

At the end of Phase 3 (2021-2022), CITIES equipped preschools with a deep understanding of urban barriers affecting children's learning, helping the education system adapt itself to rapid change of today's society.

According to statistics, 81 education managers, 640 teachers and 9,224 children of preschool age in the city have accessed new teaching and learning methods from this project.
