The salinity of the water in the Cau Do (Red Bridge) River reached an alarming 3,548mg per litre between 8 and 10 March.  This is the highest level recorded since the start of the year and, if it continues, could lead to a significant decrease in the water supply for residents over the early summer.

The Da Nang Water Supply Company (DAWACO) has taken the initiative to source water from the An Trach Dam instead of from the Red Bridge River in order to ensure sufficient supplies of water for local demand.
