A programme to provide poor people aged up to 20 with free screening tests for the early detection of congenital heart complaints is taking place in districts and wards across Da Nang.  The programme is being implemented by the city’s Association for Supporting Poor and Disadvantaged Women and Children, and it will run until May.

From May until late this year, 70 of the programme’s participants diagnosed with congenital heart complaints will be selected to receive free surgery.  All the surgical costs will be paid for by generous domestic and foreign individuals and organisations through the Association.
