Following recent approval by the Da Nang authorities, the Sub-institute for Labour and Environmental Protection in Central Viet Nam will this month measure the air quality inside the city’s Administration Centre.  The measurement will cost nearly 96 million VND which will come from the city’s budget.  The purpose is to monitor the indoor air quality (IAQ) and identify how much fresh air should be brought into the building through its ventilation systems in order to ensure a healthy working environment for all employees there.

The focus will be on using oxygen (O2) and carbon dioxide (CO2) levels as indicators of the IAQ.  In particular, indoor O2 and CO2 levels from the 5th to the 31st floors of the centre will be measured.  The measurement process will be conducted effectively as the building’s heat recovery ventilation (HRV) systems operate at 75% of their total capacity.

The municipal authorities have also approved the assessment criteria for the IAQ.  The Management Board of the Administration Centre will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the HRV systems during the measurement process.
