The Da Nang Department of Construction is now taking various proactive measures to reduce potential storm damage to local trees in the city during the current rainy season.

In particular, the city's Green Trees-Park Company is responsible for the care of local trees and for keeping a close eye on trees which are at highest risk of falling down.  All locally-planted trees are having their canopies trimmed by 25% of their total area.  In addition, the branches of trees planted along some of the city’s major streets will be removed, but only if a storm or heavy rains are forecast to sweep through the city in order to ensure the beauty of the urban landscape.

The Department of Construction has developed technical solutions to prevent local trees from falling down during storms.  The cost of the first-ever implementation of these solutions in the city are being partly funded by some local businesses.

The Department is also working closely with local construction companies and those who possess portable wood cutting machines to deal with possible storm damage to trees speedily.
