The Da Nang People’s Committee has recently collected opinions from local government employees and residents about naming some new local streets after islands in the Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago.  A proposal will be submitted to the municipal People’s Council for consideration at its forthcoming session, which takes place next month.

If the proposal is accepted, a 640m-long section between Le Van Hien and Chuong Duong streets will be called Dao Da Bac whilst a 600m-long section between Truong Sa and Le Van Hien streets will be Dao Phu Lam.  The 735m-long section between Vo Van Kiet and Nguyen Duy Hieu streets will be named Dao Quang Anh, and the 570m-long section between Le Van Thu and Vuong Thua Vu streets will be Dao Tri Ton.  A 320m-long section in the Hoa Hai H1-3 residential area will be called Dao Huu Nhat.
