As a mother, Ms Ngo Thi Loc, residing in Cam Le District has searched for a traditional remedy for cough syrup from lemon basil leaves and black garlic after trying to treat cough for her children in many other methods but to no avail. After seeing its definite effectiveness on coughing, she decided to start a business with  cough syrup, made from black garlic combined with lemon basil, branded "Loc Nhien Natural".

The cough syrup made from black garlic combined with lemon basil has a natural sweetness and one year shelf life and is suitable for children from 6 months old, pregnant women and the elderly. In addition to the main ingredients, Ms Loc also adds other ingredients such as ginger, kumquat, male papaya flower, chive, star fruit, lettuce and brown sugar.

The mixture will be mixed well and simmered for 2 days to produce smooth, benign syrup. So far, the product has been registered for product quality by the relevant authorities to license the business according to regulations.

The TSL testing centre also tests the product's safety for children. Also, the cough syrup "Loc Nhien Natural" won the third prize in the contest "Women’s business start-up ideas" organized by the Cam Le district- based Women's Union.

In addition to cough syrup products, Ms Loc has launched many other products such as black garlic herbal jam, herbal tea, nutritious nut milk, natural high-quality nutritional nuts and beans used for all ranges of age. Moreover, “Loc Nhien Natural” also has a factory in Quang Nam Province and a branch in Phu Yen Province.

Similarly, 35-year-old Ms Nguyen Thi Trang, residing in Thanh Khe District has always wanted to produce safe and environmentally friendly products for consumers. Therefore, she founded the clean food brand Gisa Vina selling products such as beef bologna, beef balls, and tofu, based on the principle of not using preservatives, additives, or borax, not mixing with flour and not packing in plastic.

To date, Gisa Vina has achieved several successes and has been presented in supermarkets and small stores. At the same time, it has built its factory, and has offices and houses for employees, creating jobs for many workers in the area.

In 2016, Ms Trang realized that people gradually have a tendency to use clean products, so she applied the expertise learned in university and previous years of working to start a business with her main product, beef bologna. She has faced difficulties on her way to conquering customers as the product was not eye-catching due to not using colourants.

Besides, the storage time is quite short because no preservatives are used. However, she believed that the products’ quality would retain customers and that has been proven because Gisa Vina has been welcomed and developed well since 2018.

Meanwhile, 38-year-old woman Truong Thi Viet Hoa, residing in Cam Le District has produced natural peanut butter with the criteria of using clean ingredients and ensuring the health of customers. Ms Hoa has been a preschool teacher for more than 12 years, but she decided to quit the job to start a business to satisfy her passion and earn more money for her family.

Ingredients for making her peanut butter are safe because they are bought from establishments selling clean agricultural products.

At first, the products were first used by her friends and relatives, then has gradually become known and bought more often by customers because of the low price. As shared by Ms Hoa, in the upcoming time, she will expand the scale, invest in designs, and packaging, and diversify products to serve customers' demands.

According to Ms Ngo Thi Thuy Trang, Chairwoman of Cam Le district-based Women's Union, the start-up festival is a venue for women to participate in product display and exchange, learn and exchange experiences in the production process, helping women improve their knowledge of management as well as knowledge in entrepreneurship activities.

On top of that, the Women's Union wants to aim at the practical meaning of promoting the movement of Vietnamese people to give priority to using Vietnamese goods.
