According to Da Nang-based travel agencies such as Vitours and Saigontouirst, the number of visitor arrivals into the city is likely to increase by between 10% and 20% over this coming weekend, when the city celebrates its Liberation Day on Saturday.

Currently, the focus is on attracting more domestic tourists as well as those from Asian countries, particularly China which is considered one of the city’s major tourist markets.  As a result, there is a sharp increase in the number of tour groups, each of which contains up to 1,000 people.  To serve such large groups, special attention has to be given to arranging suitable tours, as well as renting sufficient coaches and providing enough tour guides.

Local travel agencies are offering many unique tours linking Da Nang to other central region localities including Hue City, and Quang Nam and Quang Binh provinces.  These tours include the 4-day/3-night “Thien Duong Mien Trung” (Paradise in the Central Region) and 3-day/2-night Da Nang-Hoi An tours.  In addition, there are single-day tours to some of the city’s tourist attractions.

From 27 to 30 March, the city will welcome a famtrip with 20 representatives from travel agencies in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.  These agencies specialise in developing MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) tourism.  The famtrip will give Da Nang the opportunity to advertise its tourism brand, as well as show off its modern infrastructure development and the numerous holiday resorts and 5-star hotels.
