Following the decrease in fares by Da Nang’s Tien Sa Taxis Company on 10 November, the remaining taxi companies in the city have reduced their rates from yesterday (13 November) as a result of the recent fall in domestic fuel prices.

The rate reduction is between 4% and 12% depending on the type of taxi cab.  In detail, the fare has reduced by 500 VND per kilometre for large-sized and new taxis, whilst there is a reduction of 2,000 VND per kilometre for small-sized and older ones.  All of the taxi companies have already re-configured the taxi-meters and publicly displayed their fares.

As for local goods transport services, a rate reduction is not to be applied for transport contracts over a term of between 3 and 12 months, regardless of the fluctuations in domestic fuel prices.  The main reason is thought to be that transport businesses do not want to make any changes to their current rates in order to ensure their long-term stable business activities.
