On Wednesday, Germany’s Heart to Heart International Organisation donated a hand-held ventilator for newborn babies, valued at 100 million VND, to the Da Nang Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital.

In addition, German medical experts provided training for the hospital’s doctors who are working in its paediatric resuscitation, paediatric and neonatal care, and cardiology units.  The training focused on clinical practice guidelines, along with the examination and treatment of child patients with cardiovascular diseases.

The hospital’s Director, Dr Tran Dinh Vinh, said that the German organisation has, over recent years, been very actively involved in helping the city’s healthcare sector.  The focus has been on offering training courses to develop qualified medical workers in the city.  In addition, numerous valuable pieces of medical equipment have been donated to the city, and these are now in use for treating congenital heart disease children from the city and the whole of the central region and highlands.
