At 3.30pm on Tuesday, Captain Ho Dang Di’s fishing boat QB92729-TS suffered a rudder breakdown while fishing in the Hoang Sa waters. The boat, with its crew of 7, was adrift at latitude 16°51’N and longitude 109°20’E, which is about 78 nautical miles north-east of the Da Nang coast.  At that time, the weather at sea was bad, with wind speeds at level 5/6.

After receiving an SOS message from the fishing boat, the Zone II Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (Da Nang MRCC) sent out rescue ship SAR 274 to help the victims.

At 10pm on the same day, the rescue ship reached the fishing boat, and its crew members were transferred to the ship for health examinations.
