According to the Da Nang Department of Planning and Investment, the local authorities last year granted business registration certificates to over 4,000 new businesses, with a total registered charter capital of 13,174 billion VND.  This figure represents an increase of 32.9% and 32.4% in the number of businesses and amount of investment respectively against 2015.   This has brought the total number of businesses now operating in the city to 18,680, with a total registered charter capital of more than 90,600 billion VND.

Over the past year, 1,713 had their registration papers dealt with online, accounting for 18.6% of the new established businesses.  In addition, 388 businesses were dissolved, 1,065 had their business activities temporarily suspended, whilst another 90 had their business operations reopened.

Over the period, the city authorities granted investment licences for 4 new projects invested in by domestic businesses, with a total investment capital of 4,738.6 billion VND.  In addition, another 7 projects were developed by the local authorities, with total investment capital of 13,112.76 billion VND, whilst construction permission was given for 2,288 other projects. 

To date, the city is now home to 85 tourism projects, with a total investment capital of 7.2 billion USD.
