Many of Da Nang’s supermarkets and retailers are offering a wide range of Tet gift packages at reasonable prices in these days leading up to the Tet Festival.  The purpose is to meet the increasing demands of local residents wanting to present Tet gifts to their relatives and friends.

Big C is currently offering its shoppers 20 types of eye-catching gift packages which convey messages of good fortune, success and happiness.  The cheapest gift package is offered at below 100,000 VND, whilst the highest priced is 5 million VND.

A wide range of specialities, from traditional villages nationwide which meet the food safety and hygiene standards, are included in the many gift packages.  Amongst them are jasmine tea, coconut milk jam, fragrant sticky rice, Phu Le banana wine, Ca Cop wine and Chau Giang Village’s Chinese beef sausages.

In addition, Big C has exported essential Tet goods to supermarket chains of the Casino Corporation in France, Brazil, Thailand and other countries worldwide.  Dried products include rice paper, instant noodles, dried vermicelli and noodles, dried fruit, peanut candies, and many kinds of tea, sauces and fish sauces.  In addition, black tiger shrimps, spring rolls, rolled shrimp with potato, and other frozen products have also been exported.  This is intended to ensure sufficient supplies of essential Tet goods for overseas Vietnamese during Tet.

The Kinh Do Corporation, one of Viet Nam’s largest confectionary companies, has introduced new products for a “Happy and Prosperous New Year”.  Of these, the high-quality cookie product line Korento, which accounts for 20% of the company’s revenue, has posted robust sales thanks to its eye-catching designs and competitive prices compared to those of foreign brand names.
