Following the green light recently given by the Da Nang government, a total of nearly 480 billion VND from the city budget will go to the upgrade of the Cam Le and Son Tra district-level medical centres.

The upgrade will be implemented until 2021 and the work is under the supervison of the municipal Management Board of Infrastructure and Urban Development Investment Projects.

In detail, 2 blocks of 7 storeys, 1 basement and other auxiliary facilities will be built at the Cam Le Medical Centre at a cost of nearly 239 billion VND, thereby bringing the total number of patient beds here to 350.

As for the upgrade of the Son Tra Medical Centre, 240 billion VND will be spent on constructing new facilities offering additional 180 - 190 patient beds in total.

The upgrade aims to develop these medical centres towards modernisation in the face of the sharp growth of population in the two districts, thereby, reducing the exsiting patient overload reported at local higher-level hospitals, and providing better heathcare service for local residents.
