In his remarks at the opening ceremony, municipal PCl Chairman Nguyen Nho Trung said that despite facing many difficulties and challenges over the past 6 months, the city gained numerous socio-economic achievements. Besides, it saw positive results in budget collections, FDI attraction, and addressing press issues on the basis of ensuring a harmony between the city's development strategies, and the benefits of the residents and businesses.

He added during that period the cultural and spiritual lives of local residents were enhanced, whilst social order, security and traffic safety were ensured.

However, some of the city’s key projects have been behind schedule. Traffic congestion, environmental pollution, the lack of tap water, and other issues have yet to be resolved completely.

Chairman Trung also asked PCl members to uphold their sense of responsibility to create consensus between the authorities and local citizens.
