Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei will pay a State-level visit to Viet Nam from 26-28 March at the invitation of President Nguyen Phu Trong.

Viet Nam and Brunei established diplomatic ties on February 29, 1992. Since then, the two countries have regularly exchanged visits and high-ranking meetings.

Two-way trade hit 97.7 million USD in 2016. The two countries have set the goal of raising bilateral trade to 500 million USD in two-way trade by 2025.
