Solutions proposed for building smarter city

Hosted by the University of Da Nang, the International Conference on Computing and Communication Technologies 2019 (RIVF) is taking place in the city from 20 - 22 March.

The event was jointly sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED), and the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The 3-day event is being attended by scientists and researchers involving computing and communications nationwide and worldwide.

In his remarks at the event, municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung said proudly in recent years the application of new generation information technology and communications in the city has approached the advanced and modern levels of the region, and the world as a whole.

He added during the 2020 -2030 period, his city will focus on conducting its research activities, and developing its new technologies in a bid to build Da Nang a smart and sustainable city.

He expressed his hope that through the workshop, scientists and technology experts from both home and abroad would together discuss and propose their solutions and give their ideas to help the city develop its feasible plans to build a smart and sustainable urban area which suits geographical positions and socio-economic development features of the locality, and the region as a whole.

Within the framework of the international conference, there will be a special plenary session themed ‘SCEI - Da Nang Smart City: Experience and Innovation’, plus other intensive sessions.

In addition, the municipal Department of Information and Communications, the University of Da Nang and the Côte d'Azur University in France will enter into a Memorandum of Understanding on information and communications cooperation.

Last but not least, the awards ceremony for the 2018-2019 ‘Smart Campus' campaign will also be held.
