Finnish and Italian contestants come to the city for DIFF 2019

On Sunday evening, members from the JoHo Pyro Professional Fireworks AB (Finland) and Parente Fireworks Group (Italy) came to Da Nang to prepare for their performances on the third competition night on 15 June, themed ‘Love’, as part of the ongoing Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2019 (DIFF 2019).

Despite being a newly-established team in 2014, team JoHo Pyro Professional Fireworks AB have rich experience in the fireworks industry in Finland.

The team are famous for producing spectacular fireworks performances featuring a perfect combination of colourful fireworks and different genres of music such as rock, metal and classic in order to create the source of the story.

Mr Johan Hollander, the leader of the Finnish team, said his team will choose ‘Hero of the Rivers’ as the main theme for their show.

He added his team will demonstrate the Finnish strength and resilience through a magnificent pyro-musical show that narrate the mythological and heroic expedition of Lemminkainen. In his pursuit to win the heart of a young beautiful woman, he tries to conquer the fearsome Tuoni river. Unable to overcome the wrath of the river, his mom, the true woman of his life, searches for him and revive him back to life. The audience will be treated with a spectacular show full of actions and emotions through the triumphant story of the true hero of the river- Lemminkainen.

As for team Parente Fireworks Group from Italy, this is the fourth time the Italian team have competed in the Da Nang International Fireworks Competition, currently known as DIFF. The team were crowned champions in 2012 and 2013.

Founded in 1905, the Parente Fireworks Group has over 100 years of history in the nation’s pyrotechnics sector. 

The company is well-known for the quality of its fireworks, and its outstanding fireworks firing system and choreographies.

The 21-minute-long show by the Italian team will have ‘Drops’ as its theme. It will feature a journey from the place where emotions are born up to the place where they become universal. Drop by drop the show river flow merges to become one with a long way of an emotion that is born, grows and dugs the world with its force, changing it.

“Our passions and your emotions-these words are not just a poetic expression of collaboration between fireworks and emotions. Our task in this show is to create these feelings. We are sure that different colours and effects playing to the sounds will help us to reach the purpose”, Mr Antonio Parente, the Italian team leader remarked.
