After SHB Da Nang’s V-League 2018 ended in failure, the local football team are expecting to deliver their better performances for this year’s season which started on 16 February.

Do Merlo (in orange) is expected to be football star under the instruction of coach Duc.

Mr Bui Xuan Hoa, the Chairman of the SHB DN Club, said this year his club received much attention from leaders of the city and the sports sector, plus sponsors, so footballers found themselves more excited and inspired than ever before.

“In addition to learning valuable lessons from the previous season, better preparations have been made for both coaching board and players” Mr Hoa added.

The head coach of SHB DN, Mr Le Huynh Duc, is now exerting every effort to gain more trust of local fans.

To develop their squad, SHB DN have already signed contracts with several domestic footballers. Included are defenders Nguyen Cong Nhat from Hue Football Club, Nguyen The Hung from Dong Nai Club and Au Van Hoan from Ho Chi Minh City Club, and midfielder Pham Manh Hung from Song Lam Nghe An.

As for foreigner footballers, the team have already recruited French midfielder Victor Nirennold (28 years old, 1.93m in tallness), German midfielder Dominik Schmitt (27, 1.78m in tallness), and Brazilian striker Patrick Edson Bonifácio (25, 1.86m in tallness).

In addition, the team are marked by the presence of top striker Do Merlo at this year’s season.

Besides, SHB have also resigned contracts with goalkeeper Nguyen Thanh Binh and quarterback Nguyen Thanh Hai.

Furthermore, some of the young players from the local club's youth training programmes are enthusiastically honing their professional skills day by day in a great effort to satisfy the strict requirements of the coaching board and meeting the local fans’ expectations. They include Ha Duc Chinh, Mac Duc Viet Anh, Phan Van Long and Hoang Minh Tam.

Mr Hoa expressed his belief that after one year of taking part in training courses, coach Duc would gain more experience to resume the football sector.

Despite the above-mentioned positive preparations, the SHB Da Nang 'warriors' are likely to face tough tournament because of their opponents' strong squad such as Quang Nam, Binh Duong, Quang Ninh and Viettel.

During this year’s V-League, SHB DN lack of some of their key players like Vo Huy Toan and Ho Ngoc Thang due to their unexpected injuries.

Meanwhile, SHB face difficulties in recruiting players through transfer windows because SHB Da Nang is no longer a favourite destination for both domestic and foreign footballers like before.

Hopefully, the city’s club will resume its strengths with new vitality and new determination, especially great fighting spirit, in a bid to gain even more success from the new league season.
