Railway sector readies extra trains for holiday

The railway sector will operate dozens more trains to serve demand during the Hung Kings’ Festival, which will fall on 13-15 April.

Under the plan, the Ha Noi Railway Transport Joint-stock Company will run eight extra trains on the Ha Noi–Sai Gon route with a total of about 5,200 more seats.

The company will have two more trains from Ha Noi to Vinh City and one more train from Ha Noi to Dong Hoi City on 12 April. One extra train from Ha Noi to Thanh Hoa will be arranged on the next day. On 15 April, there will be one additional train from Dong Hoi City to Ha Noi, two from Vinh to Ha Noi and one from Thanh Hoa City to Ha Noi.

The company will maintain its usual 12 trains per day along the routes of Ha Noi–Lao Cai, Ha Noi–Hai Phong, Ha Noi–Dong Dang, Ha Noi–Quan Trieu and Yen Vien–Ha Long. All of the trains have the maximum number of carriages, equal to about 10,000 seats.

In the meantime, the Sai Gon Railway Transport Joint-stock Company will have eight extra trains along the Sai Gon–Nha Trang route during the festival.
