A visitor from France, Mr Gille de Rauglaudre, said that he had visited many places in the world and he was very impressed by the beauty of Da Nang.  He added that the above-mentioned prestigious award marks the steady progress of this coastal city as it overtakes other localities in South East Asia.  Moreover, the award will create a momentum for the city to boast its great tourism potential, and make more breakthroughs with the strong support of its local authorities, businesses and residents.  The French visitor also said that he hopes Da Nang will be placed even higher in the rankings by Agoda and other international websites in the future.

Meanwhile, Mr Guillaume van Grinsven, a senior expert from the Netherlands’ PUM organisation, suggested that Da Nang should focus on developing more shopping and entertainment areas as well as building more 2 and 3-star hotels for middle-class foreign visitors.  Special attention should also be paid to improving the quality of the local tourism activities and to upgrading local tourist sites, including the museums, theatres and cultural centres, to meet international standards.  Furthermore, the focus should be on better promoting the locality internationally, improving the city’s tourism statistics by developing its major overseas tourist markets, and boosting closer ties between those involved in this sector.

The General Manager of the Hoang Anh Gia Lai Plaza Hotel Da Nang, Mr Amir Ahmad Mohamad, said that Da Nang’s tourism sector has put a great deal of effort into improving the quality of its tourism facilities and services over recent years.  In addition, the city has promoted its tourism brand name on the international markets.  Mr Amir added that Da Nang has been honoured with many valuable awards.  The city was listed among the top 10 most attractive destinations in Asia in 2013 by the readers of Smart Travel Asia, the leading regional online travel magazine.  The Danang Golf Club won the “Viet Nam’s Best Golf Course 2012-2013” award, and the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort was crowned “Asia’s Leading New Resort” and “Vietnam’s Leading Resort”.  Thanks to these positive results, the city is receiving an increasing number of both domestic and foreign tourists.

In addition, Mr Amir remarked that visitors to Da Nang will experience and assess local room rates, as well as the quality of the local taxi services and tourism products.  As a result, they will decide whether to come back to this city or not, or to recommend it to others.  Local hotel employees and tour guides and others who are involved in hospitality services should do their utmost to help visitors take home unforgetable memories of their stay in the city.
