The programme aims to raise the awareness amongst local residents, especially young people, about protecting the environment of the peninsula, and of the city as a whole.

The programme has attracted the participation of over 300 volunteers who are students from universities, and junior colleges, members of voluntary clubs, and employees of tourism businesses, across the city. The volunteers have been engaged in cleaning up litter hotspots on the peninsula. Included are the Linh Ung Pagoda, the Xanh (Green) Lake, and Bai Da, Da Den (Black Rock Area), and Bai Bac (Northern Beach) tourist sites.

Notably, a photo exhibition is taking place at the East Sea Park. The event showcases over 60 beautiful photos of landscapes, flowers and red-shanked douc langurs on the Son Tra Peninsula.

In addition, the ‘Son Tra Week’ programme features a talk about no-rubbish lifestyle, an online photography contest entitled ‘Green Son Tra’, a donation programme to support the environmental protection activities, a ‘Beach Weekend Cleanup’ programme, and a parade of jeep bikes to convey a message of saying ‘no’ to nylon bags on the peninsula.

To mark the occasion, representatives from the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort presented 20 trash bins to the Management Board for placing them at rubbish hotspots on the peninsula.
