The agreement aims to promote the friendship and mutual understanding between the people of the 2 cities, and open up cooperation opportunities in the aspects of investment, tourism, healthcare, and education.

In particular, this important agreement also enables Daegu City to enhance bilateral friendship and cooperation with Da Nang in order to build the twining relationship between the 2 localities.

Also at the signing ceremony, the leaders of the 2 cities together reviewed the remarkable achievements in the bilateral friendship and cooperative ties since their localities established such ties in 2004.

It was reported that, besides the regular exchanges of high-level delegations, the 2 cities have maintained the exchanges of their government officials and civil servants.

The most prominent achievement in the bilateral relationship is the opening of 2 direct flights connecting Da Nang with Daegu operated by T'way Air (South Korea) and Vietjet Air (Viet Nam), thereby facilitating the exchanges, and economic and cultural cooperation activities between the 2 cities over recent years.

With the signed agreement on strengthening the bilateral cooperation, the Da Nang and Daegu leaders expressed their belief that, in the near future, their localities would be actively engaged in mutual support activities, and sharing experience in upholding their development potential and advantages for the mutual prosperity.
