During his meeting with Mrs Hedva Almog, the Active Mayoress of Haifa City, Vice Chairman Minh introduced her to his city’s remarkable socio-economic achievements, and its development orientations in the coming time.

He took the opportunity to ask for help from Mrs Almog to advertise the image of Da Nang to Haifa’s citizens, and to share with Da Nang her locality’s valuable experience in such aspects as hi-tech, information technology and biotechnology.

In reply, Active Mayoress Almog said that Haifa and Da Nang shared many similarities in natural conditions and development orientations. She, hence, stressed the necessity for the two localities to support each other in aspects in which they boast great potential and strengths, with a focus on hi-tech and tourism.

She also promised to visit Da Nang next year at the invitation of Vice Chairman Minh.

As part of their working trip to Israel, the Da Nang delegation visited the Embassy of Viet Nam in Israel.

On behalf of the city leaders, Vice Chairman Minh asked the agency to assist Da Nang in realising its ambition for accelerating the bilateral economic cooperation with some Israeli localities, including Haifa City.

“Currently, Da Nang is giving top priority to fostering cooperation about innovative and creative activities between its Hi-tech Park and Israel’s Matam Hi-tech and Business Park, the hiCenter Ventures in Haifa City, and some Israeli big institutes. In addition, a special attention is being paid to boosting educational cooperation, and university and postgraduate training, between the University of Da Nang and the Israeli Technion Institute of Technology”, he added.

In addition, the Da Nang visitors had a working session with representatives from the Tel Aviv University and the Technion Institute of Technology which are Israel’s top hi-tech training and research establishments.

At the meeting, representatives from the two educational establishments pledged to assist Da Nang in training human resources for startup aspect, as well as encourage more businesses to work in business incubators centres and common working spaces across the city.

While working with the Haifa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vice Chairman Minh asked the agency to implement many cooperative programmes with the Da Nang branch of the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the future.

Also, the Da Nang delegation paid visits to Cyberbit company, one of Israel's biggest network security companies, and to Gav-Yam company which specialises in managing hi-tech parks, including the Matam Hi-tech and Business Park.
