Vice Chairman Trung expressed his delight at fruitful results from the bilateral, long-standing, multifaceted relationships between Viet Nam and the Czech Republic over recent years.

In particular, Da Nang has seen effectively-implemented cooperation programmes with Czech localities and their businesses in the aspects of education and pharmaceuticals.

The host asked for help from Mr Vaclav Klaus to push forward the cooperative ties between Da Nang and Czech localities and their businesses in the years ahead, especially assisting Da Nang to build a tennis training centre. This is a kind of sport in which the landlocked European country possesses many world renowned players.

According to Mr Vaclav Klaus, the bilateral trade turnover between the two countries reached 1 billion US$ last year, but this figure shows the fact that the cooperation potentials has yet to be fully tapped.

Currently, Czech businesses are now showing keen interest in investing into Da Nang in various aspects. They are light-load truck assembly, and other projects to build a paediatrics hospital and to develop an urban traffic system connecting Da Nang with Quang Nam Province’s Hoi An City.

The Czech visitor reaffirmed his country’s willingness to expand its cooperation with Da Nang in science, technology, education, culture, sports and tourism, and to support the Vietnamese central city to build a professional tennis training centre in the coming time.
