All the costs of the decorations come from the city budget and domestic businesses’ donations.  They are the Sun Group, the city-headquartered DHC-Marina Corporation, the city-based Viet Sang company, and the Ho Chi Minh City-based Dien Quang Trading Service Co Ltd.

Most notably, a representative from the Sun Group revealed that up to 5 billion VND from this company’s budget is being spent on installing both floral displays and lighting decorations for Tet across the city.

This year’s floral displays and lighting decoration designs are more eye-catching and impressive than those installed last year, thereby helping to make downtown more inviting.

With regard for floral displays, an amount of money from the city budget is being spent on placing colourful flower towers and pots at some locations.  Included are sections of the Bach Dang Street riverside promenade opposite the city’s Administrative Centre and the headquarters of the municipal People’s Council and the municipal Party Committee, at the intersection of the Nguyen Van Linh and Hoang Dieu streets, the East Sea Park, and a public park on the corner of the Hung Vuong and Nguyen Chi Thanh streets.

Notably, a section of Bach Dang in front of the headquarters of the municipal People’s Council will be enlivened with flower baskets and floral decorations featuring the image of lovely dogs, the symbol of the upcoming Lunar New Year 2018 in the Vietnamese zodiac.

Meanwhile, the Sun Group’s work forces are busy placing eye-catching floral decorations at the intersection of the Ly Tu Trong and Tran Phu streets, a park near the western end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge.

Likewise, further displays are being created by the DHC-Marina Corporation along the pavement of Tran Hung Dao on the eastern bank of the Han River, and at the intersection of the western approach road to the Tran Thi Ly Bridge and 2 September Street.

As for lighting decorations, the city budget is covering the costs of installing eye-catching decorative lights to create a wonderful lighting effect at night along some sections of the Bach Dang, Vo Nguyen Giap, Tran Phu, Xo Viet Nghe Tinh, Pham Van Dong and Nguyen Van Thoai streets, and at the intersection of the Nguyen Huu Tho and Duy Tan streets, the roundabout of Nguyen Van Linh and Hoang Dieu streets, and another of 2 September and the western approach road to the Tran Thi Ly Bridge, plus other inner traffic intersections.  In particular, the fence surrounding the city’s Museum of Cham Sculptures are being decorated with a large number of LED lights.

In a similar vein, the Sun Group is also creating lighting decorations along some major streets.  Included are a section of Nguyen Van Linh between its intersections with Tran Phu and Co Giang, a section of Bach Dang between the western end of the Rong Bridge and the Novotel, a section of Tran Hung Dao between the eastern end of the Han River Bridge and the Olalani Riverside Towers, a section of Dien Bien Phu between the Nguyen Tri Phuong roundabout and the Statue of Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nhu, a section of Cach Mang Thang Tam between its intersection with Le Thanh Nghi and the Hoa Cam overpass, and a triangular-shaped roundabout in front of the city branch of the Viet Nam Television Station.

The Viet Sang company-funded lighting decorations are being installed along a section of Nguyen Van Linh between its intersections of the Hoang Dieu and Huynh Thu Khang streets.

Likewise, the Dien Quang Trading Service Co Ltd is covering the cost of installing decorative lights along a section of Le Duan between its intersections of the Tran Phu and Nguyen Chi Thanh streets.
