Viet Nam welcomes 11.6 million foreign tourists in 11 months

Between January and November, Viet Nam welcomed a total of 11.6 million foreign tourist arrivals, up 27% against the same period last year.

Over the review period, the number of visitors from Asia recorded a rise of 32.6%, in whom tourists from Viet Nam’s key markets saw stable growth, such as China (44.9%), the Republic of Korea (55.3%), Japan (7.7%), and China’s Taiwan (20.9%).

Meanwhile, the volume of visitors from Europe increased by 17% compared with that of the same period last year, with Russia reporting the highest rate at 34.8%.

In November alone, 1.17 million international visitors arrived in Viet Nam, up 14.4% against the same month last year.  This was the 8th month Viet Nam had welcomed over 1 million foreign tourists per month.

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien recently said that the number of foreign tourists to Viet Nam is expected to have hit 12.8 million by the end of this year, or a 28% increase in comparison with that of last year.
