The Da Nang branch of the Bank for Foreign Trade of Viet Nam (Vietcombank) recently celebrated its 40th birthday and received a First-class Labour Medal.

Addressing the event, the municipal People’s Committee Chairman, Mr Huynh Duc Tho, praised the branch for its remarkable achievements over the past 40 years, with a focus on providing loans and mobilising deposits, as well as becoming actively involved in local foreign affairs and social welfare programmes.

The city leader took the opportunity to urge the branch to develop suitable policies and new services in the future to match the city’s development orientations.

Importance was also attached to supporting local businesses, expanding activities, and improving the quality of its services and competiveness in order to attract more customers.  In addition, attention should be paid to giving well-timed suggestions about financial policies in order to help the city boost its socio-economic development effectively and in the right direction.

To mark this event, the branch has donated 2 billion VND to the city to repair and build new houses for local social policy families.
