A seminar entitled “Hong Kong – an International Trading Partner” took place in Da Nang on Tuesday evening.  The event was co-organised by the city’s branch of the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC).

The purpose was to provide businesses from Da Nang, and elsewhere in the central region, with useful information to help them develop plans for their import and export activities in the Hong Kong market.  In addition, the event allowed them to seek cooperation opportunities with partners through Hong Kong, which is considered to be a potential and experienced transit market.

At the event, the HKTDC’s Director for Indochina, Ms Shirley Wong, said that Hong Kong is now home to numerous representative offices of foreign companies.  She added that Hong Kong is also the second largest FDI receiver in Asia due to its financial platform on the global scale and a solid legal system.  Thanks to this, Hong Kong will become an ideal partner for Viet Nam’s businesses to seek trade cooperation opportunities from China and other countries around the world.
