As prolonged wet weather and flooding continues to seriously impact Central Viet Nam, including Da Nang, electricity suppliers in Da Nang have taken proper actions to ensure the ultimate safety of their customers, and secure supplies to homes and businesses during the rainy season.

Deputy Director of the Da Nang Power Company Vo Hoa said his company has focused on increasing checks of power grids and electricity substations at downstream and low-lying areas across the city.

Also, branches of trees near power lines have been trimmed to avoid any unexpected electricity-related incidents. Meanwhile, anti-climbing devices have been installed on power poles to prevent crawling animals or inquisitive birds from causing power outages.

The testing of electrical equipment on transmission lines and transformer sub-stations has been already completed. Besides, the installation of valve type lightning arresters on 110kV power transmission lines has been made.

Director of the Son Tra District branch of the Da Nang Power Company Le Ngoc Chinh said his unit has taken the initiative to maintain medium-and low-voltage power lines on major coastal streets in a bid to enhance the stability and reliability of power supply in both Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts during the ongoing rainy season.

Mr Chinh added many accidents occur as a result of electric faults during the rainy season. Therefore, he advised owners of homes and businesses in Da Nang to be extra careful when using electrical equipment to avoid unfortunate electricity-related incidents.
