A public walkway to beaches at the end of Ho Xuan Huong Street, covering an area of 6,680m² and measuring 445m in length and 15 in width, has already been put into use, hereby facilitating locals living nearby and visitors staying at hotels along the Ho Xuan Huong and Vo Nguyen Giap coastal streets to easily access beaches.

To date, the creation of a 330m- long footpath, covering an area of 12,782 m², between the Furama Resort Danang and the Ariyana Danang Tourism Complex in Khue My Ward, which started in mid-October, has already completed.

The 3m-wide footpath was created at an estimated cost of 2.172 billion VND funded by the city budget. It was paved with cubic stones in order to ensure the synchronicity with the existing walkway at the Ariyana Danang Tourism Complex.

However, the municipal administration has recently approved the withdrawal of around 470m2 from the resort to expand a square and build pedestrian overpass on Vo Nguyen Giap.

Work is expected to start in June on a 3.27 billion VND footpath at the Future Property Invest tourism area project in Hoa Hai Ward and another one which costs 6.5 billion VND and measures 7m in width on the northern side of the Song - Danang Beach Villas project in Ngu Hanh Son District’s Khue My Ward.

In particular, the local authorities are considering increasing the width of the footpath’s road surface at the Future Property Invest project to 20.5m from 4m as previously approved. This project will include ornamental trees along the footpath, power supply and automatic watering systems, and stairs leading to sandy area.

Deputy Secretary Tri urged functional local bodies to accelerate the progress of the above-mentioned footpath projects, with no delays in the implementation work, so that they can be put into use as soon as possible.

Apart from the opening of public beach access, a 3m-wide, 455m long coastal route to the east of tourist areas in Ngu Hanh Son District will be built at an estimated cost of 7.93 billion VND.

Meanwhile, the plans for the building of a 3m-wide, 455m-long coastal route to the east of tourist areas in Ngu Hanh Son District at an estimated cost of  7.93 billion VND has been submitted to the Department of Construction for appraisal.

The coastal path is scheduled to stretch from a footpath at the end of coastal Ho Xuan Huong Street to another one at a site between the Furama Resort Danang and the Ariyana Danang Tourism Complex. Of note, beach services will be added to this project to serve the public.

The intention is to facilitate locals and visitors to cycle, as well as to take leisurely strolls to enjoy the fresh air, or to explore the beauty of beaches. This, in turn, will help to create a dynamic area providing tourism services in the city.

Work is scheduled to begin on the route in August.
