In October alone, the Da Nang Department of Tourism imposed fines of 25 million VND in total on 5 Vietnamese tour guides for not complying with the Vietnamese laws and regulations.

In addition, a fine of 17.5 million VND was imposed on a South Korean national for illegally working as a tour guide in the city.

During this month, a total of 61 tour guides obtained their licences, which helped to increase the number of licensed tour guides in the city to 4,000. In detail, 2,800 of them are serving domestic visitors, whilst the remainder are serving international travellers.

The Da Nang Tourism Promotion Centre provided visitors with necessary information relating to tourism services and activities, accommodation establishments, drinking and eating areas.  Also, any opinions and feedback given by visitors about travel and accommodation services, and related issues, were received and handed effectively.

Moreover, the Department cooperated with relevant local agencies to take stronger measures to deal with the harassment of visitors, illegal vending, and other issues of concern in the city.

Focus was on increasing checks over environmental sanitation, security, and maritime search and rescue, at beaches, and seaside hotels and resorts.
