Drugs rings smashed

The Drug-related Crime Investigation Division of the Da Nang Border Guard recently successfully broke up drugs rings which were involved in illegally selling drugs to university students and staff members at guesthouses and hotels in the city, and in Quang Nam Province.

On 21 April at 9 pm, the city’s border guard force captured 3 suspects on Truong Sa Street.  They were Ngo Van Minh from Son Tra District’s Man Thai Ward, Nguyen Thi My Dung from Quang Nam Province’s Nui Thanh District, and Vi Thi Dung from Thanh Hoa Province’s Quan Hoa District.  They were charged with illegal possession of drugs after the border guards had found and seized 50 tablets of methamphetamine.  Soon after, local police officers searched their homes for other drug-related items.

At 10.30 pm on the same day, Do Duy Tra from Son Tra District’s An Hai Bac Ward and an unidentified woman were arrested in front of the Furama Resort.  Over 5.4 million VND in cash, 18 ecstasy tablets, 2 cell phones and a motorcycle were seized. 

At the same time, at Son Tra District’s Phuoc My Ward, a scout from the Border Guard Command detected and captured Vo Thanh Long from Quang Nam Province, seizing 1.6 grams of methamphetamine and other related items.

The above-mentioned cases are now under investigation.
