Secretary Anh re-affirmed the firm stance on imposing stricter penalties for corruption, waste and irresponsibility, depending on the level of violation.

He remarked that the city leaders have no intention of relocating the 2,000 billion VND Da Nang Administrative Centre to a more suitable site, at least during the 2015 - 2020 period.  He noted that local relevant agencies are now remedying such shortcomings as the building’s ventilation system and the nearby traffic jams during rush hours.  Under the city’s master plan by 2030, with a vision towards 2050, the city authorities will effectively implement urban planning, with a focus on building the city’s main square and a municipal administrative area.

As for measures to deal with foreigners who have worked illegally as tour guides in the city, Secretary Anh announced that a local tourism police force will be established very soon following permission from the central government.  This will help to ensure a healthy, safe and friendly local tourism environment.  He affirmed that strict punishments will be imposed on violators.

With regard to the city’s tax collections, Secretary Anh said, “Since the start of this year, the city has seen stable tax collections.  The total of taxes collected in the city is likely to reach over 18,000 billion VND by the end of this year”.

In addition to the implementation of ‘The City of 4 Safe Programmes’ campaign, greater efforts will be made to further promote such key local campaigns as the ‘5 No’s, 3 Yes’s’ and ‘Building Da Nang into an Environmentally-friendly City’.

The Hai Chau District authorities and other local relevant agencies were asked to jointly deal with concerns raised by local voters over such issues as environmental protection, urban order, traffic infrastructure, the extension of Phan Ke Binh street, and preferential policies for local social policy beneficiaries.

As for the bilateral sister-city relationship with Quang Nam Province over the past 2 decades, the 2 localities have cemented and effectively implemented their signed multi-faceted cooperation programmes.
