Vietnamese and Lao NA Offices exchange experiences

The 7th seminar to exchange experiences in parliamentary activities between the Vietnamese and Lao National Assembly (NA) Offices took place in Da Nang on Monday.  In attendance were the Vietnamese NA Vice Chairman, Mr Uong Chu Luu, the Chairman of the Lao NA Office, Mr Unkeo Vuthilath, the head of the Vietnamese National Assembly's Office, Mr Nguyen Hanh Phuc, the Head of the Da Nang NA member group, Mr Huynh Nghia, and some representatives from relevant agencies in the two countries.

At the event, the focus was on specific issues to enhance the effective performance of the parliaments of the two countries.  The event also provided an opportunity for the participants to review and evaluate the implementation of the bilateral cooperative agreement over recent years, as well as discuss their key tasks and orientations for the immediate future.

Special attention was paid to exchanging experiences about improving the performance of their parliaments, as well as their foreign affairs activities.  In addition, discussions focused on organising meetings between NA members and their local voters, as well as answering questions raised by NA members at their parliamentary sessions and at NA Standing Committee meetings.
