On Monday, some representatives from the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee and the Da Nang authorities discussed the implementation of a pilot scheme to end People’s Councils (PCs) at district and ward levels.

The NA Standing Committee was asked to give their permission to abolish PCs in 11 communes of Hoa Vang District.  This will help to expedite the urbanisation and upgrading of the rural areas in this district.  The committee was also asked to allow the city to implement a pilot model for developing urban government as soon as possible.
