700 candidates nationwide compete at Central & Central Highland Viet Nam Informatics Olympiad 2024

The final round of the 5th Central and Central Highland Viet Nam Informatics Olympiad has been held at the Viet Nam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VUK) on Saturday with the participation of nearly 700 pupils from junior and senior high schools across the country.

At the end, 563 contestants with high achievements were honoured at the awards ceremony held in the city on March 30.

Outstanding contestants will be selected from the competition to participate in the training and talent development programme in South Korea prepared by Hanwha Life and the ChildFund Korea (CFK) Foundation, aiming to help them learn more about the fields of technology, information and communications.

Within the framework of the final round and award ceremony of the competition, an "Information Technology Career Experience Day" - hosted by Hanwha Life and VUK was organised on March 30 and 31, attracting more than 5,000 pupils, students, and parents to visit and experience the university environment in general and VKU in particular, while contributing to career counseling and guidance for high school students.

This year's Informatics Olympiad is within the framework of a tripartite cooperation agreement between Hanwha Life, VKU and CFK. Its aim is to support the local community through seeking and fostering talents in technology, information and communications, and finance.

Under the deal, cooperation activities include building infrastructure and curriculum for digital finance education, and strengthening the capacity of young generations and future lecturers in Viet Nam.
