In attempting to deal with the matter of deep concern, the city are taking comprehensive actions to boost the infrastructure development in order to attract more technology investors from both home and abroad to pour their money into the city.

In early January, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc signed a decision No 27/QD-TTg to recognise the Da Nang Information Technology Park (DITP) in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Lien Commune as a dedicated IT zone.

According to Mr Nguyen Anh Huy, Director of the Da Nang IT Park Development JSC, the 341ha DITP is the country’s largest dedicated IT zone. He added DITP is the first dedicated IT zone in Viet Nam to be home to firms involving in software and hardware industries.

Director Huy said “47 ha of the 1st stage of DITP, which is earmarked for building electronic components manufacturing factories, is similar to the Silicon Valley model in the USA”.

He added, during the year, DITP houses 10 plants running surface-mount technology (SMT) production lines. These plants specialise in manufacturing electronic components and printed circuit boards for exporting to Taiwan and the USA.

During this year, some public utilities will be built at the Da Nang Information Technology Park to attract even more investment flows.

In August 2019, representatives from the Da Nang IT Park Development JSC and the USA-based Meritronics Amt, Inc, together signed a Memorandum of Understanding on establishing the Trung Nam Meritronics Technology JSC which will provide electronic manufacturing services at the DITP.

Also, another one was signed by Ai20X and the Da Nang IT Park Development JSC on the provision of services to turn DITP into ‘Viet Nam’s Silicon Valley’.

Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Information and Communications Tran Ngoc Thanh remarked work would start at the expanded Software Park project in Cam Le District during this year.

The project's basic construction is expected to be completed by the end of the year. During the 2021-2025 period, appeals for domestic and foreign investment will be made for the construction of software and digital content manufacturing plants at the expanded Software Park.

Also, during the year, the municipal authorities will help such large IT companies as FPT, Viettel and VNPT to expand their own software parks.
