Da Nang University (UDN) and Thailand’s Nakhon Phanom University (NPU) have agreed to extend their bilateral cooperation agreement which was signed in 2008, making the 2nd extension after the first one signed in 2013.

Since the signing of the agreement, the 2 sides have jointly carried out many bilateral exchanges of students and lecturers, and academic and cultural exchange events.

The NPU representatives remarked this Thai school’s stance in cooperating with the UDN to develop the Thai language training programmes for Japanese-Korean-Thai Faculty at the Da Nang University of Foreign Languages and Studies, and the 4-month Thai language course, as well as jointly develop a training programme under the 2 + 2 form.

In reply, Associate Professor Nguyen Ngoc Vu, the UDN’s Director underscored the importance of promoting the bilateral cooperation in training and scientific research to fully use their potentials and advantages for mutual development in the current context of more intensive international integration, especially in higher education.

The NPU is different from other new universities in that it continues the existing functions of the combined institutions. It provides academic training at the vocational, higher vocational, undergraduate and graduate levels.

Currently, many Vietnamese students are studying at this Thai educational establishment  in many majors, especially in tourism.

NPU has been implementing cooperation agreements with the UDN, the Hue University and other tertiary facilities across Viet Nam.
