On Monday, the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications signed a cooperative agreement with the VNG Corporation to run InfoSoft software for the online monitoring of the operation of local Internet shops.

Under the central government’s Decree No 72/2013/ND-CP on the management, provision, and use of Internet services and online information, the software will be installed at local Internet shops. 

The purpose is to help the shops to enhance the effective management of their operations.  In addition, the software will allow local relevant agencies to prevent users from accessing websites containing pornographic content or using copyright infringing software.

The city is now home to more than 900 Internet shops operating a total of over 20,000 computers.
