Music, dance, vibrancy, and colour are the highlights of the festival. Thanks to this, it attracts a large audience of local residents and weekend visitors to Da Nang.

Since 2017, these street parades have become one of the city’s most exciting cultural events, leaving a deep impression on both locals and visitors.

Co-organised by the Son Tra District People’s Committee and the municipal Culture and Movie Centre, the event has seen the participation of hundreds of dancers and musicians from the city-based Junior College of Culture and Arts, a trumpet club, a dance sports club, the May Xanh (Blue Cloud) and Tien Sa dance clubs, the district’s Youth Union organization, and relevant agencies.

Accordingly, the street artistes, in eye-catching costumes, parade along the street in many different genres of support music such as valse, Latin pasodoble, tango, cha-cha and disco. Their performances receive cheerful and long-lasting applause from audience.

Mrs Dinh Ngoc Tu Anh from Ha Noi’s Hoan Kiem District expressed her impression on this amazing street parade of live music and dancing.

“I participated in dancing with local artists and lived stream this fascinating event on my Facebook page to introduce it to my friends in Ha Noi” she added excitedly.

Mr Cao Tan Ngoc, Deputy Director of the city’s Culture and Movie Centre, remarked that this year’s festival would be on a larger scale than that of previous years, especially as street artists would wear more eye-catching costumes and perform more amazing dance styles.

Mrs Vo Thi Phuong, Head of the Office of Culture and Information in Son Tra District, remarked more training courses on dance performances would be organised for local artists, along with teachers from local schools and the district’s Office of Education and Training in a bid to provide a large number of artists for the programme.

In the future, a group of over 70 professional street artistes will be established.

“My district will also appeal for donations from the district’s budget and local generous donors in order to enhance the quality of the festival to leave a better impression on visitors”, Mrs Phuong emphasised.
