Various events to mark National Day

A wide range of cultural and sporting events will be held across Da Nang over this coming weekend to celebrate the 69th anniversary of Viet Nam's National Day (2 September).

A dance festival, which has “Han River’s Rhythm” as its theme, will take place on the Bach Dang Street riverside pavement at 7.30pm on Thursday 28 August.  Organised by the city’s Dancers Association and the Hai Chau District Culture and Sports Centre, the event will thrill the audience with enchanting melodies and spellbinding dances by local performers.

“Green Dreams”, a charity musical performance  will be held at the Trung Vuong Theatre on Saturday 30 August at 7.00pm. 

The final rounds of a contest for musical bands and dance groups will be held on a vacant land area on Tran Hung Dao Street between 7.30pm and 10.00pm on 30 August. 

Another musical performance entitled “Singing about the Country's Sea and Islands” will take place at the city’s cultural centre at 7.30pm on Sunday 31 August.  Also on the same day, there will be a gala dinner and awards ceremony for the 2014 Da Nang International Marathon at the Hoang Anh Gia Lai Hotel at 6.00pm.

Water-skiing shows will take place on the Han River from 4.00pm - 5.30pm on Tuesday 2 September, and on the same day there will be street music performances at 7pm on the Bach Dang Street riverside pavement.

Finally, the Cinema and Film Distribution Centre’s mobile team is screening a number of films in remote local areas between 22 August and 5 September.
