On Tuesday, the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology made an assessment of the “Initiating and Broadcasting an Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Life Programme on the Da Nang Radio and Television Station (DRT)” project.

The project ran from December 2011 to May 2013 at a total cost of around 946 million VND.

During the period, 11 IPR and life programmes, 14 situational films, 3 talk shows, and 1 game show were broadcast on the DRT channels.  All the programmes featured IPR-related issues, including IPR registration for local business innovations, the building, management and development of their brand names, the IPR enforcement measures in the city, as well as idea exchanges between local managers and IPR experts.

In addition, the programmes also reflected the pressing issues relating to fake and counterfeit goods in local markets.

The project has brought a particular socio-economic efficiency, in that it has helped raise awareness about IPR among local residents and businesses, as well as created a bridge between local businesses and the relevant agencies.  In turn, it has made a significant contribution to controlling the production and trading of fake, counterfeit and low-quality goods in the city.
